VISION AND FORESIGHT: INGREDIENTS FOR SUCCESS IN LIFE.

As I am getting older, I'm constantly reflecting on my own life as seen the mistakes that I made as a young man, some of these mistakes are still haunting me even now and it is expensive and energy-sapping to reverse many of them..and probably will never reverse them in this lifetime.

We make mistakes in life often because of ignorance of how life works. As a Christian, the Bible is full of wisdom and teaching of how one can avoid life's pitfalls...but we never read the Bible for ourselves, that is where the problem starts.

"Therefore, it will be night (tragedy) for you without vision, And darkness (cataclysm) for you without foresight.."~Micah 3:6 AMP. Vision as a verb means "To imagine something as if it were to be true.", The same word as a noun means "A goal towards which one aspires." Foresight is a noun that means "The ability to foresee or prepare wisely for the future."

When I was coming up as a youngin' after the traditional initiation from a boy to a man, our seniors and father figures did not much. As a result, many of us got into the evil company, got morals ruined, and the worst of it is that we lived lives devoid of vision and foresight. It is only by sheer luck that some of us survived to tell this story. I can tell you for free that 90% of my village mates/classmates are physically and spiritually dead, are award-winning deadbeats or alcoholics shackled to the bar and bottle.

As a man I see it imperative that we (as parents, guardians and godparents) follow up our young men and boys, make sure they have visions, dreams and foresight in this life, as the Bible so well put down, lack of vision and foresight only leads to tragedy, darkness and a cataclysm!. In the education system in Kenya, they teach us to write CVs/resumes but we are never taught how to write a personal mission and vision statement; we trend through life blindly. #mwobobiasroundup
